educational vision

For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to the field of education. My journey began as a French and English writing tutor, which opened the door to my participation in the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF). After completing my college education, I spent a transformative year teaching English in Massy, a low-income suburb of Paris. During this time, I also served as the interim director of Simple English, a private English school. My stay in France wasn't just about teaching; I also immersed myself in the culinary arts and achieved fluency in the French language.

Upon returning to the U.S., I embraced a new challenge as a NYC Teaching Fellow, specializing in second language education and focusing on students with disabilities. I earned a Masters in TESOL from CUNY City College and spent two rewarding years working in NYC public schools as a history and ESL teacher.

In 2018, my journey brought me back to California, where I delved into Waldorf education through training at Mills College. Following this, I joined Menlo College’s Intensive English Program, teaching Oral and Written English communication and integrated skills.

As an educator, my approach is rooted in trauma-informed pedagogy. I design my curriculum with an anti settler-colonial mindset and integrate dynamic mindfulness, non-violent communication, conflict resolution, restorative justice, and culturally responsive techniques. My ultimate goal is to create an inclusive and empathetic learning environment that honors and respects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of my students.

Beyond teaching, I contribute to the creative and community sectors as a skilled grant writer, offering consultations and contract work. This facet of my career enables me to support fellow artists and nonprofits in their vital endeavors.

My professional life is a blend of art, education, and activism, all fueled by my deep desire to positively impact my community. Currently, I teach fiber art, French language, and grant writing, continuously striving to weave together my passions to inspire and uplift others.
