fiber art

Since I was a little girl, I have always had a love for working with my hands and making my own clothes. My mother taught me how to sew and connected me to my family’s history of textile production. My grandfather had a cotton mill and all of my uncles spun on a charkha wheel. After learning how to crochet and knit, I studied macramé and weaving techniques in addition to dyeing and spinning yarn.

With an emphasis on zero waste, my current collection also ties in my South Indian roots—using my mother’s discarded Sarees, as well as found objects.
